BIOGRAPHY

Adriana was born and raised in Venezuela, where she completed medical school in 2000. She always wanted to be in medicine to help people live their best possible lives. Adriana worked as an intern in a rural hospital for two years in her home country before moving to the U.S. with her husband. They have two wonderful daughters who were raised in Winchester.

After moving to the U.S., Adriana worked in breast cancer research at SUNY Upstate when she was living in Syracuse, NY. After relocating to Winchester, she started a Master in Anatomy and Physiology Instruction and taught Anatomy and Physiology at Lord Fairfax Community College and Shenandoah University. She found teaching to be very rewarding. While at SU, Adriana reconnected with the practice of medicine and decided to go back to school to become a Physician Assistant.

Recognizing the growth of the Hispanic community in our area, Adriana wanted to help them take control of their health and overall well-being. That is how, after graduating from PA school, she worked at Shenandoah Community Health in Primary Care. Adriana had extra training in Obesity Medicine and treated patients with non-surgical options. Adriana is very happy to be working now in Women’s Health, which was her first love in Medical School.

Adriana is very involved in her community and is a board member of the local chapter of the non-profit organization Girls On The Run. In her free time, Adriana enjoys playing tennis and painting. Her favorite work is the one she painted of their golden doodle, Milo. Adriana loves spending time with her family.
