Lynda C. Miller, DNP
Lynda Miller was born and raised in Roanoke, Virginia. She moved to Front Royal, VA in 1999.
Lynda started her journey into nursing when her husband, Ray, was activated in the National Guard, Winchester, VA in 2004. She finished her RN degree before he even returned from his tour in Afghanistan. She immediately started working at Warren Memorial hospital in the Medical/Surgical unit, along with rotations in the ICU and ED. Accompanied by the love of learning, and the desire to be the best provider she could be, she decided to continue her education at Shenandoah University to obtain her BSN, MSN and then her FNP. During her program, she had a phenomenal Women’s Health rotation that stuck with her for the remainder of her program. After graduation and passing certification in 9/2012, an opening at the Women’s Center of Winchester immediately caught her attention. Within a few weeks, she was seeing patients.
After a few years of practice, Lynda felt a strong desire to additionally be able to fully attend to her patient’s mental health needs and was dual certified as a Psychiatric NP in 2016.
She starts her Doctor of Nursing Practice, Fall 2017, with anticipated graduation planned for Spring 2019.
Lynda loves her role in women’s health and feels so very honored that patients allow her to do what she knows best — care for others. Lynda’s special interest are adolescent care, PCOS, metabolic syndrome, endocrinology, weight management, and mental health. As a part of mental health care, Lynda’s special interest are Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), CBT, DBT and group therapy.
